Waverley Hotel - The Waverley Hotel, Workington, offers quality, exceptional value accommodation with a wide variety of room styles. The Waverley Hotel is situated in the historic coastal town of Workington, Cumbria. We have 25 en suite bedrooms, 4 standard rooms and a selection of individually designed executive suites giving a maximum occupancy of 50 guests. All bedrooms contain the usual modern amenities with tea/coffee making facilities, colour tv, hair dryer, direct dial telephones, broadband internet access, luxury toiletries, tourist information, notepads etc. a separate ironing room is available, however executive suites include an ironing station, fresh flowers and complimentary welcome pack (wine, fresh fruit, still water and chocolates). Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift.

Westbury House - This 3-star rated, Lakeland-stone, Victorian house is set in a quiet side street, approximately 5 minutes' walk from the train/bus station. Jo and Alan offer quality accommodation and excellent value for money. They are very happy to advise you on any walks and have maps to assist you. They can also book you on to tours and make dinner reservations for you at one of the many excellent restaurants in the surrounding area, or beyond. The house is situated opposite Ellerthwaite Park and is a gentle 20-minute walk from Lake Windermere itself.

Holly Cottages Guest House - Welcome to our non-smoking, environmentally conscious guest house where recycling, chemical free cleaning, organic and local produce are top of our agenda. Placed in the centre of Bowness, the family-run guest house is within minutes of Lake Windermere. Holly Cottages was built in the 17th century and is situated in the conservation area. In a prime location for all local activities, Holly Cottages offer bed and breakfast in 4 en suite individually styled rooms complete with Hubble Bubble Organics handmade soap. Private parking is accessible at all times and pets are also welcome.

Churchill Inn - Located in the centre of Ambleside, with private parking and all the amenities literally on your doorstep. Within the hotel there are two bars: the larger Popular bar and the more tranquil Monty's bar with an open fire etc. A traditional bar menu is served in the the main bar with a 10% discount for residents.

Laurel Cottage - Peacefully situated in Windermere, overlooking Queens Park, this guest house is a short stroll from the amenities in the village and about 20 minutes' walk from the Lake and Bowness. Laurel Cottage is convenient for Windermere rail and bus station and is an ideal base from which to explore the Lake District. The guest house is set within a small Victorian house built of local stone in the 1890s. It has been modernised to offer up-to-date comforts, but has retained its original character. Laurel Cottage is run by the owners Alison and Wayne, who offer a warm and friendly welcome.

Low House - This 17th-century Lakeland country home offers delicious cooking, cosy open fires, free Wi-Fi and a warm welcome, all in a peaceful setting just 5 minutes from local amenities. Low House is located within a mile of Windermere and a few hundred metres from Windermere Golf Club. All the facilities of Windermere are 25 minutes' walk away. The house is filled with antiques, books and paintings, as well as modern, useful facilities. The bedrooms have king-size beds and Molton Brown toiletries.

Wheyrigg Hall Hotel - A splendid 3 diamond hotel on the Solway Plain close to the lakes, hills and Carlisle. Also close to the Scottish borders, Gretna Green and the Roman wall, river and badlands. Wheyrigg Hall is a family run hotel bar and restaurant set in a rural location. Originally an old farmhouse, the hotel has been converted to provide comfortable accommodation. There is ample car parking and there are two separate function rooms providing seating for fifty and one hundred people so the Wheyrigg Hall is an ideal venue for conferences, weddings or other family celebrations. There is also a spacious dining room, lounge and bar with a homely cottage atmosphere. Close to all that the town has to offer, the Oakthorpe and Lamplighter Bar has a good location, only a two-minute walk from Windermere Railway Station and just off the A591, which runs right through the Lake District. Lake Windermere is just 5 minutes away by car or only a 15-minute stroll from the front door. There is a large, free car park. A range of accommodation is available to suit the needs and budget of any traveller. Some rooms have en suite bathrooms and rooms with shared bathroom facilities are also available. Delicious food and real ales are served in both the restaurant and the Lamplighter Bar. Seafood is a speciality, with fresh fish delivered daily from Fleetwood.
